About Artists and Makers Camp

Artists and Makers Camp is a one to three day event for participants to learn new crafts and skills outdoors in a beautiful picturesque environment. Students and instructors will be camping together at the Avon Hills Folk School in Avon, MN. 2024 will be our 8th year and students and instructors have created some really great projects and everyone left with new skills and completed creations.

DETAILS ABOUT ARTISTS AND MAKERS CAMP

Come for all three days and camp on-site Fri/Sat night for only $10 per night, or come just for the day on Saturday! You may also come Saturday and choose to camp Saturday evening.

Campers may arrive on Friday late afternoon/evening, then set up their campsites. Take a stroll around the folk school grounds and explore the woods to get comfy. We will also have a very informal meet and greet around the fire when everyone is settled in.

Wake up, or come early for breakfast on Saturday morning. We will be serving up waffles or pancakes with maple syrup made at the Folk School, and breakfast sausage to get your day going.

Classes take place all day on Saturday, with the addition of the Frame Drum class on Friday evening. Each class will take place outdoors in a different part of the farm property. Instructors will be offering two 1/2 day classes or an all-day class. Please check out the Classes page to find out what we are offering. Everyone will break for a light lunch, then continue with the learning. Saturday evening we will serve wood-fired pizza in the outdoor pizza oven for everyone to enjoy. There will be vegetarian and gluten-free options as well.  PLEASE: Let us know of your food/diet requirements.

Sunday students can work with their instructors to finish up projects. Hang out as long as you like, then head out when you are ready. Breakfast will again be served on Sunday morning if you decide to camp.

Participants also have the option to forgo the camping, and just take part in the classes and meals on Saturday. Come early on Saturday and enjoy breakfast and get to know your fellow students!

The price for the whole weekend or just Saturday classes is a base price of $175. If an instructor has an additional materials fee, it will be listed in the class description and added to the price when you book your classes. Registration includes 2 classes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, bonus mini workshop(s), and breakfast on Sunday if you choose to camp.

***Participants will be in charge of their own tents and camping equipment.  Alcohol is allowed, and there will be waste bins for trash disposal.
