Join Us To Learn Leather Working!

Join Dan Horan, from Merchant Leather and Avon Hills Folk School for one (or two) days of hand sewing leather.

We are excited to welcome Dan back to the folk school on July 24 and 25. His classes are super popular and always fill up fast!

This entry to advanced level class is designed to introduce the classic techniques of hand-sewing with leather. Students are able to choose from a mix of projects that demonstrate the basics of working with leather including cutting, punching, hand sewing, riveting, snap setting, finishing and care. Students will be guided through the process from hide to finished product – leaving the class with their very own, handmade, leather product.

All tools provided for student use. What does one or two days look like? Options! Sign up for either Saturday OR Sunday individually and choose from a selection of 20+ medium and small projects. Or, sign up for both days and complete even more small and medium projects OR one large project.

Small and medium projects examples include wallets, keychains, clutches, wristlets, belts and coin purses. Each day includes 5 projects. (1 day = 5 project, 2 days = 10 projects). Additional projects can be purchased each day at cost (to be completed in class or brought home to finish). Projects will be chosen the day of class from a large selection of leathers and colors.Large projects include a selection of tote bags, a bucket bag or a laptop case. Students must choose their project and leather color in advance (but extras will be available for anyone who changes their mind). Additional projects can be requested in advance as well.
